As one of the original video calling apps, Skype needs no introduction — but they did need a new brand copywriter. Working with Skype’s in-house marketing and content team over several months, I worked to uplevel the brand voice on their website to match their brand vision: quirky, tongue-in-cheek, and clever, with an undertone of warmth and connection.
Among the projects I completed for Skype were chatbot scripts, blogs announcing new features, and new website copy that turned up the volume on their brand voice. As a long-time Skype user myself waaaay back in the early days of the internet, I was honored that their quest for a new copywriter resulted in hiring me.
